APPLICATION DEADLINE: Friday, May 2nd... Open to all young ladies, 16-21 years old (must be 16 years old by August 1st, 2007) Contestants will be judged on beauty, interview, talent, poise & stage presence. All applicants must be a U.S. citizen, single, and never married—divorced—or had a marriage annulled. It must be understood that contestants cannot have a child or be pregnant. Contestants must be a resident of McHenry County: ~ With a Huntley mailing address, OR ... ~ Resides within the Huntley School District 158 boundaries. Contestants may only participate in ONE local scholarship pageant in the year 2008. The winner must be available to participate in community events when requested with advance notice and agreement. All contestants must attend pageant rehearsals which will be held the five weeks prior to the pageant. A mandatory meeting is scheduled for Wednesday, May 7th, 7:30 p.m. at the Chamber Office. Parents/Guardians are welcome at this meeting, but not for practices. Upon receipt of application, the pageant committee will work with contestants in obtaining a sponsor. If a contestant wishes to have a particular sponsor, sponsor must notify the Chamber Office immediately. NOTE: Sponsor Must be active Members of the Huntley Area Chamber of Commerce and will be accepted in the order received with payment. A minimum of 3 contestants will be required in order to hold the pageant. If this requirement is not met by Friday, May 2nd, 2008, it is to be understood that the pageant will not be held and prizes will not be awarded. In the event that the pageant is not held, the Pageant Committee will meet the applicants and appoint a representative for the Town of Huntley, who will compete as Miss Huntley at the 2008 Miss McHenry County Pageant. (If there is no pageant, the appointed Miss Huntley will receive a crown and sash)
